Each year, we are impressed and inspired by the BGCCI Youth of the year finalists. It takes an incredible amount of dedication and commitment to improvement to prove yourself before judges you have never met.
On Tuesday, February 25th, BGCCI celebrated the 2025 Youth of the Year candidates, presented by NCMIC. Guests heard speeches given by each candidate, junior and senior, while judges selected winners. Our 2025 Youth of the Year is Kayleigha from McCombs Club, and La'Riyah from Burt Club was named the Junior Youth of the Year.
These Club members proved to the judges that they are youth of high values, numerous strengths, and healthy lifestyles.
Our Senior Winner, Kayleigha has been a club member at McCombs Club for 6 years, and has participated in a variety of BGCCI programs, including the City of Des Moines work program, Torch Club, Girls in Science, photography, and cooking club. Kayleigha also competed in and won last year’s title of Youth of the Year. After high school, Kayleigha plans to study to become a pediatrician or OBGYN at the University of Northern Iowa.
Kayleigha will go on to compete at the state level against other Club's Youth of the Year, and from there she has a chance to compete at the regional award, and even at the national level!
